This specification covers the sunscreen lotion resistance requirements for an interior, waterborne or solvent borne, 1 or 2 component metallic paint system for use on parts made of ABS, ABS/PC and PC. Paint systems that pass the requirements of this specification must first pass the all requirements of GMN10083 to be approved to this specification.

Paint Feel

Paint systems approved to this specification shall be required to carry a type suffix to indicate the type of feel that it has to the human skin. The suffix system shall be as follows:

• Type A ..... Soft touch

• Type B ..... Fabric Feel

• Type C ..... Hard Touch

Paint Base

Paint systems, water and solvent based, qualified to this specification shall be identified by two grades as shown below:

• Grade SB ..... Solvent Base

• Grade WB ..... Water Base
