This specification covers hoses made from ethylene acrylic copolymer (AEM) for use with either automatic transmission fluid or engine oil. It also covers hose assemblies equipped with end fittings or user-applied clamps secured to the hose as required by engineering drawings.

Material Description.

Construction. The hose shall consist of a smooth bore tube of ethylene acrylic copolymer (AEM) compound reinforced with aramid fiber applied by braiding, and a cover of ethylene acrylic copolymer (AEM) compound. Hose shall be black.

Note: Other materials for tube, reinforcement, or cover must be approved by purchaser prior to any production shipments.

Dimensions and Tolerances. Hose furnished to this specification shall conform to the dimensions and tolerances. 

Material Identification. To properly define the hose, the material specification number (GMN11273) is to be referenced.

Typical Application. Transmission oil cooler or engine oil cooler hose assemblies.
