This specification covers the properties of an integrally colored, weather resistant, flexible, 70 Shore A hardness, poly(vinyl chloride) homopolymer pellet form, extrusion molding compound.
PAINTABILITY. Approved paint systems that can be used on this material are listed in the GM Approved Paint On Plastic Systems (GM APOPS) data base.
APPLICATIONS. Typical applications include the following: Body side moldings, profile extrusions, bilaminated greenhouse moldings, painted ditch moldings.
Some plasticizers used in PVC compounds are known to be incompatible with mating surfaces. This should be considered in making material selections.
