This document details the requirements for a Steering Wheel Assembly Component (referred to as the Steering Wheel) to be used on vehicles produced by General Motors Worldwide. As defined by the responsible Vehicle Engineering Center (VEC), the Steering Wheel consists, as applicable, of an armature, steering wheel molding assembly, back cover, leather wrap or synthetic wrap, wiring, floating horn mechanism, trim plates and switches.

Any vehicle level and steering wheel interface requirements contained herein shall be addressed by the responsible VEC(s). The Steering Wheel supplier shall work cooperatively with the responsible VEC(s) and any other component supplier(s) in resolving any identified interface, design or functional issues. The responsible VEC(s) shall be the final arbiter of any vehicle level and interface requirements.
