Purpose.

This document provides the standard technical requirements for the propulsion mounting systems. Propulsion system types applicable to this specification are Internal Combustion Engines (ICE), and Electric Drive Units (EDU). References to the vehicle program specific technical specification are included in this document where program specific requirements are expected to exist. All components of the subsystem must meet the requirements of this specification regardless of the phase of the program including production unless a deviation is agreed to by GM Engineering.

Note: The vehicle program specific technical specification may include additional program specific requirements that are not referenced in this document and may supercede any requirements included in this document. In the case of any conflicts between this document and the program specific technical specification, the program specific technical specification takes precedence.

Definition for some of the technical terms used in this document may be found in SAE J200 and ASTM D4092. This specification supercedes requirements in the referenced documents where there is conflict.
