Purpose. The purpose of this test method is to determine the wear resistance by linear abrasion testing. For this, the surface of the specimen is submitted to a controlled scraping effect with friction media to be defined.

Applicability. Materials and parts with surfaces subjected to wear.

Remarks. A specified number of cycles with a specified friction media are applied to the specimen at a specified pressure force. Then the specimen is evaluated visually.
