The Hand Held Force Input Frequency Response Function (FRF) Acquisition Master Test Procedure, GMW14181 and the Transducer Calibration Master Test Procedure, GMW14172, shall be referenced for more detailed information corresponding to the following procedure.
Note: Nothing in the specification supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless specific exemption has been obtained.
Note: In the event of conflict between the English and domestic language, the English language shall take precedence.
Purpose.
Define the process for obtaining the drive point dynamic stiffness / mobility level of the ELC interface attachments to the body. These measurements are used to compare ELC attachment drive point dynamic stiffness / mobility to the specifications.
Foreword.
The driving-point dynamic stiffness / mobility of an isolated component is one of the factors affecting structure-borne noise. This quantity, among others, can be used to calculate forces into the body, or combined with body properties to predict noise levels in the passenger compartment. The dynamic stiffness of attachments is inversely proportional to mobility.
Applicability.
This test procedure is appropriate for use with all ELC pump/bracket assemblies. All passenger cars and light trucks will utilize this test procedure.
