This specification provides instructions for creating Electrical Schematics for vehicles and vehicle SubSystems and components used in GM's Electrical Design Process. This specification is for use as the processes for developing, formatting, and documenting Schematics within the IEC/GMW drawing format. The intended audience included, but is not limited to, platform system/design engineers and integrated Hamess suppliers.

This specification written based that the reader has knowledge of GM's Electrical Architecture and System Design Processes as well as a basic understanding of IVED Tools.

This specification is applicable to all major programs beginning with the Global A Electrical Architecture. It may not be economically feasible to convert all "carry-over" or mid-cycle enhancements to the new format.
