This General Specification contains the general requirements and associated tests regarding exhaust system isolators. Materials covered by this specification are divided into three types.

Type A. Ethylene propylene diene monomer (M-class) rubber (EPDM) for +125 °C permanent temperatures. 

Type B. Vinyl Methyl Silicone (VMQ) for +150 °C permanent temperatures. 

Type C. Drawing defined (e.g., using SAE J200 or ASTM D2000 line callout).
