Purpose.

This document is the GM World Standard for speaker component Analysis (A), Development/Evaluation (D), Design Validation (DV), and Product Validation (PV) procedures as well as environmental and reliability demonstration tests for automotive and light duty truck applications. Provides established common validation tests or methods for GM that will be delegated to be performed either on the vehicle, buck, subsystem, component, and/or bench. The Component Technical Specification (CTS) and Subsystem Technical Specification (SSTS) shall take precedence over this document. In the event of a conflict between the text of this specification and the documents cited herein, the text of this standard takes precedence.

Applicability.

This standard applies to all speakers and any of their external components used in cars and light-duty trucks.
