Purpose. To evaluate the mechanical strength of non-metallic primary and secondary diesel and gasoline fuel tanks.

Foreword. This procedure can be used to show compliance with European regulations:

• EEC 70/221 as amended by EEC/2000/8.

Note: The fuel tank must be able to pass this test after completing the fuel tank conditioning described in GMW14846.

Applicability. This procedure applies to all passenger cars, multipurpose passenger vehicles (MPV), and trucks which have a primary or secondary non-metallic diesel or gasoline fuel tank.
