Material Description.

This specification describes materials suitable as cording used for map pockets, convenience nets, storage nets and parcel shelves, as well as pull straps and tie down straps. Cording material shall be knitted or braided and may be elastic or non-elastic. Webbing materials are typically woven and non-elastic. All materials shall be made from man-made fibers colored and finished to acceptable color, pattern, and physical properties.

Symbols.

A unique finish symbol will be given to each construction by the responsible GM representative at initial development.

Typical Applications.

Elastic cords surrounding mesh fabric map pockets or surrounding convenience nets in occupant area or trunks of the vehicle.

Non-elastic straps to support the rising of the rear parcel shelf when opening the luggage compartment and pull straps to engage the folding seat feature.
