This standard covers the materials and performance requirements for spring band hose clamps. Spring band hose clamps must function with hose/nipple connections of a variety of dimensional ranges and must have a full open diameter which is large enough to install the hose clamp over a bead when the hose clamp is already assembled. Clamp size will be designated by its Nominal Diameter (Dn) to distinguish between different hose clamp working ranges.

Material Description. The material and coating used for clamps must be free of hexavalent chrome and other restricted materials per the requirements of GMW3059.

Typical Applications. This specification covers three types of clamps:

• Type A: Constant Tension Band Clamp (CTB)

• Type B: Pre-Opened Pre-Positioned Clamp (POPP with a clip)

• Type C: Pre-Opened Pre-Positioned Clamp (POPP clip less)
