Purpose. This document establishes requirements for the Hydraulic Brake Hose Assemblies (HBHA) for General Motors vehicles. This document must only be used when invoked by a program-specific technical specification. References to the program specific technical specification are included in this document where program specific requirements are expected to exist.

Note: The program specific technical specification may include additional requirements that are not referenced in this document and may supersede any requirements included in this document. In the case of any conflicts between this document and the program specific technical specification, the program-specific technical specification takes precedence.

Applicability. This standard applies to all hydraulic brake jounce hoses.

Remarks. The brake apply system must quickly, repeatedly, and efficiently convert the driver’s pedal force and travel inputs into hydraulic fluid displacement and pressure. The HBHA work in conjunction with the brake apply system and foundation brakes to provide the vehicle with smooth, safe deceleration, retardation and retention performance under all driving conditions.
