Material Description. This standard covers the sunscreen lotion resistance requirements for an interior, waterborne or solventborne, 1 or 2 component metallic paint system for use on parts made of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), ABS/PC and Polycarbonate (PC). Paint systems that pass the requirements of this specification must first pass the all requirements of GMW14867 to be approved to this standard.

Paint Feel. Paint systems approved to this standard shall be required to carry a type suffix to indicate the haptic feel that it has to the human skin. The suffix system shall be as follows:

• Type A: Soft Touch

• Type B: Fabric Feel

• Type C: Hard Touch

• Type D: Semi-Soft Touch
