This document establishes the requirements for the Interior Decorative Trim (IDT) used in General Motors (GM) vehicles. All requirements in this standard apply to each unique decorative trim component, design and interface. The required functions, performance, appearance, design constraints, and validation of the components are defined by this document.

Certain sections or paragraphs are broad in scope as this document must cover many different constructions, design concepts, and trim levels to meet the needs of the full range of GM vehicles. Therefore, program specific requirements that may not be covered within this specification are identified in the Statement of Requirements (SOR) Appendix C2.
