Purpose. To evaluate the strength of steering/front suspension systems and supporting/interface systems when subjected to a 445 N (100 lb) force turning load on the rim of the vehicle design intent steering wheel.

Foreword. Not applicable.

Applicability. This test procedure applies to all vehicles that have mechanical connections between the steering wheel and steering gear.
