Purpose.

The standard defines the requirements and test methods for the different convoluted conduits for wire harness protection in the passenger and engine compartments.

Applicability.

This standard shall be used for all passenger cars and light duty truck wire harnesses to evaluate and classify wire harness conduits for a given application. Class designations is defined in Table 1 to classify the various temperature ranges encountered in/on vehicles.

Remarks.

Convoluted conduit is used to contain wires in a protective enclosure.
