Purpose. The purpose of this test procedure is to define a full vehicle level functional test to validate the Adjustable Pedals subsystem. This test procedure is intended to ensure satisfactory electrical system performance of the Adjustable Pedals subsystem under vehicle level conditions. The components used for this test shall be production intent.
Foreword.
On vehicles equipped with power adjustable pedals, the occupant position control electrical subsystem controls the adjustable pedal position for the driver via the adjustable pedal motor when the adjustable pedal switch is activated, or by recall memorization feature, if equipped. The subsystem controls two directions of movement, pedals forward and pedals rearward. This feature operates independently of the ignition switch position.
On vehicles equipped with the memory option, the subsystem provides the capability to retain different driver identifiers. These driver identifiers are used for personalization options (Driver Identification) and are retained across all ignition states and battery disconnected.
No more than three seat motors are activated at any time, even if commanded by the appropriate switch. The three cushion motors take precedence over the recliner motor. The adjustable pedals motor has the least precedence (including lumbar, if equipped).
Applicability. This test procedure applies to vehicles with adjustable pedals content. If nothing about model is stated, assume that the instructions apply to all models.
