This standard establishes the minimum corporate requirements for the expansion valve (component, hereafter) to be used with refrigerant R744 (CO₂) in an Air Conditioning (AC) system in passenger car and passenger truck applications. The functions, performance, reliability, and validation required of the expansion valve to be used as the corporate expansion valve are defined in this document.

For quotation purposes, the releasing platform must clearly identify specific requirements of the component to be quoted. The supplier should not make this determination independently. All requirements of this specification must be met in order to demonstrate production validation.

Mission/Theme. Heat pump applications are not covered by this specification.
