This standard establishes the minimum requirements for coaxial tube Internal Heat Exchangers (following named IHX) shall be used in R744 (CO₂) A/C systems. The functions, performance, reliability and validation required for the IHX are defined in this document.

All requirements of this standard shall be met in order to demonstrate production validation.

Mission/Theme. The intent of this standard is to define the performance requirements and the tests required to confirm the compliance with these requirements for R744 IHX's.

Heat pump applications are not covered by this standard as well as heat exchangers integrated into accumulators.
