Material Description. This specification describes materials types of unfilled high temperature polycarbonate (PC-HT) and polycarbonate copolymer/blends, which contain ultraviolet (UV) stabilizer. Type and Code numbers, in addition to GMW3013 guideline, that apply to this specification are listed below. This standard is based on GMW3013 per ISO 7391-1/2 recommendations.

Note: Additional characteristics will be indicated by code letters according to the respective specification number. Code letters that may apply to this specification are defined in GMW3013.

Paintability. Approved paint systems that can be used on this material are listed, e.g., in the General Motors Approved Paint on Parts Systems (GM APOPS) database.

Types. The classification into type codes is according to the different properties as described in Table 1. Standard Properties are listed in Table 2.

Symbols. The material abbreviation according to ISO 11469 is >PC-HT<.

Typical Applications. Typical applications include interior UV stabilized and exterior optical lens substrates and other applications that require higher temperature stability with some limited UV protection compared to standard PC-HT.
