Purpose. This standard specifies the Extensible Markup Language (XML) configuration method including definition of the XML schema. The XML configuration method is used to configure Electronic Control Units (ECU) for different vehicle variants and to minimize proliferation of calibration files.

Applicability. This standard serves as a single point of reference for the Global A XML configuration method including the XML schema.
