Material Description. This standard covers the properties of a continuous glass fiber mat, preimpregnated with polypropylene, homopolymer, and used in a compression molding process.

Symbols. The material abbreviation according to ISO 11469 is > PP – GFXX <. The symbol shall be completed by the supplier according to the Glass Fiber (GF) content of the material.

Typical Applications. Typical applications include non-Class "A" surface appearance structural components such as the following; underbody panels, chassis shields, radiator support brackets, seat backs, bumper beams, battery trays, header panels. 

Remarks. The classification into groups is according to the different ranges of glass fiber content.
