Purpose/Material Description.
This standard covers the properties of a 45% glass/mineral reinforced polypropylene sheet, homopolymer used in a compression molding process.
Symbols.
The material abbreviation per ISO 11469 is > P – PP – (GFXX + MYY) < (see Section 8 for details). The symbol shall be completed by the supplier according to the Glass Fiber (GF) and Mineral (M) content of the material.
Applicability.
Typical applications include non-Class “A” surface appearance structural components such as the following; underbody panels, chassis shields, bumper beams, running boards.
Remarks.
The classification into groups is according to the different ranges of GF content.
