Purpose/Material Description.

This standard provides the overall requirements of a fluorescent dye for use within mobile air conditioning systems.

Applicability.

The dye is introduced into the mobile air conditioning refrigerant system for the purpose of leak detection. This universal dye should be compatible in R134a, R1234yf refrigerant and, polyalkylene glycol (PAG) or polyolyester (POE) oil based systems.

Remarks.

The dye is normally used during service or repair.
