Purpose/Material Description.

This procedure covers the performance requirements for interior applied graphics on parts. This includes pad printing and screen printing of inks or paints. Material approval is only required when color development (i.e., Trim Transmittal) is needed.

Applicability.

Some examples of parts which should be covered by this specification are first or second surface interior components with graphics such as clusters, stalks, switches, and tether bezels.

Remarks.

The graphic shall be designated according to the area of application on the vehicle.

• Type 1: Covers graphics on the first surface of interior trim parts that are exposed to Ultraviolet (UV) light.

• Type 2: Covers graphics on the first surface of parts not exposed to UV light (e.g., interior, trunk).

• Type 3: Covers graphics on the second surface of interior parts that are exposed to UV light.
