Purpose.
This test is performed to determine the effects of solar heat loads on the retention force of the outer belt to validate the component meeting retention requirements of the technical specification. These are listed in CG968 Side Closures SSTS and CG2658 Greenhouse Molding CTS.
Applicability
This procedure applies to front and rear doors on all passenger, multipurpose and commercial vehicles that have outer belt components with gripper based retention means.
