Purpose. This test procedure specifies the procedures for instrumental color-concentration, or colordifference, measurement of pigmented or dyed foams or other colored materials. This method provides a consistent engineering practice for determination of CIELab values (L*a*b*), color difference values (ΔE), or individual colors (such as Blackness, L*).

Applicability. Seat foam, instrument panels, head restraints, armrests, center console covers, soft integralskin foam, etc.
