Material Description.
This standard specifies the requirements for reinforced polyamide 66 (Nylon 66) resins and any alloys of polyamide for high voltage insulation purposes. Materials approved to this specification cannot have a halogenated heat stabilizer package.
Symbols. The material abbreviations in accordance with ISO 1043-1 and ISO 11469 are shown in Table 1.
Applicability. 125 °C rated high voltage (60 VDC to 600 VDC) insulation, both Alternating Current (AC) and Direct Current (DC).
Remarks. Materials are classified according to reinforcement type and content. Materials may also be classified as flame resistant.
