Class F, Fabric.

The material shall consist of a textile fabric face supported by an inner polymer layer for waterproofing. It may include additional layers.

Class O, Other Fabric.

Symbols.

The finish symbol code defines the material construction and will be assigned by the responsible department. Trim materials are described by finish symbols which define commodity type, face material class, face material chemistry, and construction sequence number. The construction code is a unique identifier of the technology used to make a specific product. The construction code is described in detail on the completed Exterior Accessory Textile Construction Specification Form, CG6375.

Applicability.

This standard applies to exterior accessory materials only. It does not apply to multi-layer fabric with an inter rubber layer, as used for convertible soft tops. Refer to GMW16686 for that type of material.
