Purpose/Material Description.

This material shall be comprised of a film which is impermeable to moisture and resistant to engine compartment fluids when applied to and which will adhere to Acoustic Wheel Liner Materials per GMW16225 to create a system that meets all performance requirements of GMW16225 Class 1.

Applicability.

This standard applies to water-impermeable films to be applied onto acoustic wheel liner textile materials to enable parts made from such materials to be impermeable to moisture.

Type I: Linear Low Density Polyethylene/Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE/LDPE).

Type II: Polyester/Polyester (PET/PET).

Type III: Polyamide/Polyethylene (PA/PE).
