Purpose/Material Description.

This specification covers the requirements for coatings that are used on the inner surface (B-side) of transparent or translucent hard-coated polycarbonate exterior decorative lighting applications, such as back-lit grilles or exterior trim. These coatings can be used to enhance appearance, and could be used to block light, or may be semi-transparent to allow light transmittance. Light transmittance shall be defined along with specific color and appearance requirements per program direction. Coating technology shall be documented with approval.
