This specification covers the sunscreen lotion resistance requirements for an interior solventborne two-component (2K) paint system for use on parts made of Sheet Molding Compound (SMC). Products that are approved to this standard have a target bake of 82 °C (180 °F) and typical bake range of (82 to 135) °C ((180 to 275) °F).

Note: Nothing in this standard supercedes applicable laws and regulations.

Note: In the event of conflict between the English and domestic language, the English language shall take precedence.

Purpose/Material Description.

These topcoats are part of a total painted product system and must meet the requirements set forth in this specification and those shown on Engineering Drawings. This specification shall be used in conjunction with GMW14797, Painted Plastic Parts Performance Requirements for Plastic Parts.

Remarks.

These topcoats are designed to be applied over a baked primer.
