Purpose/Material Description.

This specification details the requirements for oil based formability enhancing pre-lube formulations that must be compatible with current production processes and paint systems. These materials combine the performance characteristics of both corrosion prevention and a formability enhancing drawing compound. These requirements apply for all substrates and surface treatments listed in GMW14019.

Normally applied on coils and blanks at mills for corrosion and stain protection during storage and shipping and to aid in metal forming.

Any deviations from this requirement must be specified on the Metal Parts Specification (MPS) sheet or the purchase order.
