Purpose/Material Description.

Spray-on Bedliner intent is to protect the truck bed from scratch and chip.

• Spray-on Bedliner, 9986498, Limited Weatherability.

These materials are based on aromatic urethane technology. Materials approved to this specification, will tend to yellow or darken in color and will lose gloss becoming flat at a steady rate after exposure to natural sunlight.

• Spray-on Bedliner, 9986310, Long-term Appearance Retention.

These materials are based on aliphatic urethane technology. Materials approved to this specification, will retain color and gloss after long-term exposure to natural sunlight.

Note: Both types of spray-on bedliner share same properties and requirements with exception of color difference (ΔE*) after Accelerated Weathering testing, see Table 1 and Table 2.

Symbols.

Not applicable.

Applicability.

These materials are designed to adhere to approved paint systems in production at GM North America (GMNA) plants. These materials are ambient cure and shall not see a paint bake. Adhesion shall be proven over the paint layering in 1.3.1.

Paint Layering.

Electrocoat (E-coat) + Primer + Basecoat (BC) + Clearcoat (CC).

Remarks.

For cost savings purpose one (1) or more paint layers may be eliminated. For each specific case proposal, additional testing is required to determine bedliner adhesion to proposed paint layering.
