Purpose. This standard specifies standard Thermocouple and Infrared imaging thermal measurement methods for components with electrical/electronic content that shall be used for thermal evaluations, unless otherwise specified. 

Foreword. This standard defines the following two temperature measurement methods for components with electrical/electronic content that are used in a vehicle environment: 

• Thermocouple (TC) 

• Infrared (IR) imaging

Applicability. This standard applies to components with Electrical/Electronic (E/E) content to measure thermal properties.
