1. SCOPE
This test method provides a means of determining the stress crack resistance of plastics to automotive fluids. Standard tensile test bars are subjected to specified bending strains and exposed to the test fluid for a specified time before being tensile tested. The severity of stress-cracking is assessed from the reduction of tensile elongation or maximum tensile stress observed relative to unexposed samples.
