This specification covers the requirements for waterborne, cathodic electrodeposition primer for use on vehicle bodies, sheet metal, precoated sheet steel and small parts.

This primer is intended to provide a smooth, highly corrosion resistant coating which may or may not be subsequently topcoated. Primed surfaces that receive subsequent coatings have additional requirements listed in the appropriate material specifications.
