1. SCOPE

This specification covers the finish durability requirements for decorative and/or functional interior or exterior parts which are fibre coated with pre-dyed fibres. The fibres are generally nylon or polyester. The substrates are generally polypropylene, ABS, polycarbonate, painted metal, or rubber. The adhesive used in the application of the fibres to the substrate shall be approximately the same colour as the fibre, or clear, must be resistant to heat, light, humidity, ozone (fibre coated rubber parts only) and shall not cause staining of the fibre coating or adjacent materials.
