The material described in this specification is a tape designed to reduce noises created by adjacent parts rubbing against each other. The tape consists of fibres, usually nylon or polyester, bound together to form a pad which is adhered to the part by a pressure sensitive adhesive.

Type 1 has an acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive suitable for forming strong bonds to painted metal surfaces and most plastic materials except polyethylene and polypropylene.

Type 2 has a pressure sensitive adhesive suitable for bonding to polyethylene and polypropylene.
