This specification covers the requirements for approval of paint systems for use on interior metallic components. The specification is applicable to parts finished by Holden Ltd. or by suppliers.

Components to be painted will be classed according to the following categories based on position within cabin of vehicle and marked on component drawing.

Area A - components in a horizontal position on top of crash pad, steering wheel or parcel shelf such as instrument panel crash pad, passenger airbag door, instrument panel escutcheon, upper cap, parcel shelf, horn-bar and steering wheel shroud upper

Area B - components in a vertical position on instrument panel or doors or horizontal position around centre console such as instrument cluster, centre console, steering wheel shroud lower, cup holder, door handle, hand brake and grab handle
