Provides methods for the determination of silver in photographic products, sludges, residues, processing solutions, and effluents of the photographic processing and manufacturing industries. Sampling, sample preservation, and analytical methodology are included. The atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) technique can be used directly with many types of samples. Digestion A can be used for effluents and washes with low salt content. Digestion B can be used for films, papers, sludges, resins, and concentrated processing solutions. This standard was first listed in the January 17, 1997 issue of Standards Action. It is being resubmitted due to substantive changes to the text.
