The new IIAR 3 American National Standard for Ammonia Refrigeration Valves specifies criteria for materials, design parameters, marking and testing of valves and strainers used in closed circuit ammonia refrigeration systems.
This standard is not intended to supplant existing safety codes. In cases where the authority with jurisdiction has special requirements that are more stringent than those in the standard, that authority shall prevail.
