This standard presents the minimum requirements for the organization and location of magnetically encoded data on a 0.50 inch (12.65 mm) wide magnetic tape cartridge to allow parties that comply with these requirements to interchange information reliably. The standard applies to 208-track, 85 938 bpi (3 383 bpmm), serial serpentine 2,7 RLL recording mode tape drives that operate in the streaming mode. This format is called the DLT5.
