This standard provides general requirements for the development of specifications for pneumatic rack and pinion actuators.
This document applies to actuators with a maximum allowable operating pressure (MAOP) up to 145 psig (10 barg) with a compressed gas (e.g., instrument air).
For this document, 0 degrees always refers to the valve in the closed position, and 90 degrees generally refers to the valve being fully open.
Purpose
The purpose of this document is to provide a guide to assist the user in specifying pneumatic rack and pinion actuators.
