The scope of the new revision is essentially the same as that of the previous revision, but has been updated. It clarifies that the MMR, LMR and RPR requirements only apply to features of linear size consisting of a cylinder or two parallel opposed planes.
Although not explicitly stated, the scope of the document has also been broadened to take into
account definitions of size other than two-point size.
The statement in the scope of the previous revision, that the principle of independency (as defined in BS EN ISO 8015) does not apply in the case of MMR, LMR and RMR, has been removed. There is no violation of the principle of independency in this revision of the standard.
