BS ISO 12828-2:2016 deals with validation of the results obtained from the chemical analysis of compounds sampled from fire effluents. Validation is achieved by conforming to prescribed experimental procedures and the collection and statistical processing of the data. Limits, with their derivation, are provided for the acceptable range of analytical conditions for each chemical compound. Within these limits, reliable and repeatable measurements can be achieved. Measurements outside those limits are likely to be unreliable.
