The new Steel Sheet Products Manual includes major revisions new to this edition. Descriptions are provided of of 31 steel sheet products and specifications for both coated and uncoated steel, as well as detailed information concerning the production, metallurgy, properties, dimensional tolerances and the inspection and testing of these materials.

Thirteen ASTM specifications were discontinued in 2000 and 2001 and have been replaced by three new specifications covering hot rolled and cold rolled carbon steel, structural steel and high strength low alloy steel sheet. One of the new specifications covers these products when provided as heavy thickness coils.

Also in this edition, thickness tolerance tables have been revised, 19 photos of the most common steel sheet imperfections are shown, and a new specification is described in the section on coated steel products.\\
