This Recommendation provides guidelines on the provision of satellite-provided remote sensing data in the event of different phases of disaster management:

pre-disaster (mitigation, or measures taken to reduce damage, disruption and casualties; preparation, or measures enabling a rapid response to disasters; and prevention, or avoiding adverse impacts of hazards and related disasters),

during the disaster (detection of a disaster and the immediate response in the form of emergency services and assistance), and

post-disaster (recovery from the immediate effects of the disaster and the long term rehabilitation and restoration to near pre-disaster conditions).
